Patricio Lombardi

Executive Director

Over the past five years, Lombardi has built a strong relationship with the Vatican, culminating in the organization of a historic meeting between Pope Leo XIV and leading figures in the critical minerals industry. In September 2026, this dialogue evolved into a joint work plan running through the end of 2027, aimed at delivering concrete results in responsible mining and environmental stewardship.

In 2020, Lombardi was appointed Minister of Climate Change. During his tenure, he and his team structured what became the largest issuance of carbon credits in the history of the VERRA certification standard, positioning the province as a pioneering benchmark in large-scale forest conservation and nature-based climate finance.

In 2000, he served as Undersecretary of State for Latin America under Florida Governor Jeb Bush, helping to strengthen cooperation and dialogue between the United States and Latin America.

Lombardi is a frequent speaker at international forums on biodiversity and on the intersection of nature, business and public policy.
